En esta ilustración explico con dos referencias como aplico la magnitud de los objetos y juego con las distancias y proporciones. El cuerpo principal del dibujo es ese enorme petrolero de 323 metros de eslora que navega tranquilo en lastre dejando atrás la bahía de Eleusis, muy cerca del puerto del Pireo. Junto a el, un pequeño remolcador lo acompaña hasta aguas abiertas. Esta es la primera referencia para comprender la magnitud del buque protagonista. La segunda referencia la encontramos en la familia que aparece en primer plano junto a la orilla. Este último detalle es el matiz que dota a la ilustración de un correcto uso de las distancias y las proporciones. El fondo montañoso y esbozado de la bahía, aporta profundidad.
In this illustration I explain with two references how I apply the magnitude of the objects and play with the distances and proportions. The main body of the drawing is that huge oil tankership with 323 meters lenght that sails calmly in ballast leaving behind the Eleusis Bay, very close to the port of Piraeus. Next to him, a small tugboat escort him to open waters. This is the first reference to understand the magnitude of the leading ship. The second reference is found in the family that appears in the foreground next to the shore. This last detail is the nuance that gives the illustration a correct use of distances and proportions. The mountainous and outlined bottom of the bay provides depth.
